SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah doctor who spent four years volunteering at an orphanage in Nepal organized a special event in Salt Lake City Friday to help orphans after a devastating earthquake earlier this year.

Dr. Clint Rogers, with the help of magician Brian South and musician Tehrah Tayler, organized “Magic, Music & Miracles” with the goal of raising $150,000 to repair an orphanage near Kathmandu.

“I think people are- they feel the pain of what’s happened in Nepal, but they don’t know how to help. And they’re worried sometimes if they give to a big organization, how much actually goes to the people who need it versus goes to administrative expenses. Our commitment here is that 100 percent of everything that’s given goes straight to those kids and the rebuilding of the orphanage,” Rogers said.
