1. We slowly realised what had happened
So the earthquake of April 25, we know now, was the start of something big. At the time nobody had any idea to what extent the earthquake was felt. Did people on the other side of Kathmandu feel it? What about the other side of the country?
I was on a bus with a group of tour operators on our way to Bandipur and after seeing significant landslide activity, I sent a text message to a friend to ask if there was an earthquake in Kathmandu. No response. One person on the bus was able to get network coverage and we slowly starting receiving news about damage happening in Kathmandu.
A tower fell down, a temple crumpled, cracks appeared in a neighbour’s house.
