I came across this clip which I thought worthwhile to share with you. It’s just four minutes in duration.
The clip demonstrates the severe challenges of delivering food basics to the people of remote areas such as Larke Pass. Larke Pass (5123m) is situated on the Nepal/Tibet border in central-western Nepal and is a relatively popular trekking route on the Manaslu Circuit. Monsoon rains, landslides and a higher than normal snowfall adds to the complications.
It also features members of the Seven Summits Women of Nepal who are ambassadors for the World Food Programme and are actively involved in this Remote Access Operation.
Despite how well SIRC is doing, this is a reminder to us all that the remote areas of Nepal and the people who live there continue to suffer unimaginably.
