The tallest pagoda of Nepal, Nyatapole was constructed by King Bhupatindra Malla in 1702 in the Taumadhi square of Bhaktapur. In Newari “Nyata” means fives and “pole” means storied, hence Nyatapole is the only temple which got its name not for its deity but for its structure and architecture.
